Way to Go New Mexico

New Mexico is trying to steal the spotlight from... well, from anyone. My state is the last state from Super Tuesday to have a projected winner. Still no one has been named.

I myself worry about disenfranchisement. At the only voting site in our lone suburb, Rio Rancho, people waited 3-4 hours to vote, and many left. At other sites the wait was 2 hours +, and they were running out of ballots all over the state. Some people were told to write the name of the candidate of their choice on scrap paper. who thinks that vote will be counted.

Ah, New Mexico.

Wow, write your choice on scrap paper. That is back-asswards.

Also I am confused about the delegates thing on the Democratic side. So a whole bunch of them are going to have to switch from one to the other to get to the required total or there are that many more out there somewhere to be obtained?

There are still 1,035 delegates up for grabs on Feb 9, 10, 12, 19, and Mar 4, including 228 in Texas. Then there's all the super delegates. To win, because they're so close in delegates won (838 for Obama, 834 for Clinton), they would need to get about 1,190 still. So the super delegates will play a huge role, since they get to vote for whomever they want. And if it's still super close, the 26 delegates that John Edwards has won may have to switch to somebody else (since to win you don't just need more delegates than the other candidates, you need at least 50%).
