Growing up in Michigan, you always hear stories about the glory days of the Tigers, back in 68 and 84 (when I was too young to notice). Then for your whole life you have to deal with the mediocrity and even hopelessness of the team (not to mention the Lions as well). And finally, after years of waiting, they do something good! Sure they blew the Division title, in front of my very own eyes, and forced themselves into the wildcard spot against the dreaded Yankees. However, they tore the Yankees apart, winning the Division Series at Comerica Park! No one believed it. Not even ESPN. As Kid Rock put it, "Ain't no party like a Detroit party!"
